Welcome to Quark Community

Quark is an open source software used mainly as a digital currency that employs multiple cryptographic algorithms, which unlike fiat/national currencies provides the platform for a decentralised monetary system.

Quark was launched in 2013 with the belief that the control of money should not be in the hands of the few, but in the hands of the many. This forum tries to build on that ideology by distributing Quarks in the hands of those that are active in the community. By posting quality articles and contributing to general discussions you will earn Quarks.

Just started mining at MINING POOL HUB Now let's see what happens.

Edit: Well it didn't went well. The site is often down, connection unstable, and the payout is poor, 0.52 quarks in a day at 460kh/s average. On solo mining I usually hit more than 2 quarks a day so is not reasonable. Now I started mining at e-Pool. I'll come back with details.

e-Pool didn't went too well either. Connection lost frequently and also not satisfied with the payout.

Started mining on MPOOL from yesterday and the results are really good! 20 QRK in 1 hour on MPOOL ! I highly recommend it guys. Come and join.

I think pointing a single cpu miner through the wallet, over time, may not be as profitable as simply pointing it to a quark pool, where atleast you can guarantee blocks from the increased hash rate. There are some days where my wallet does pretty good, but as a whole, i do better from a pool.

Edited: May 2017 with current difficulties....

I'm currently sync'ing blocks, slow going, 3yrs 22 weeks behind.... A pool might certainly be easier.

ok... where to begin Night....... syncing your wallet is not associated with mining... although it can be misconstrued that way due to this wallet having the ability to mine. The syncronization of your wallet in easiest terms... is all of the transactions and stuff that has ever happened since the inception of the coin. This takes time, although there are ways to download a large portion of that blockchain...., simply being patient and running it in the background will have you there sooner or later...... If someone were to lets say transfer you coin right now, you would not get it, until your wallet synced up to today, and today's transactions...

    Get it?

has anyone tried solo vs. pool mining recently?

What mining software are you using to point at that pool?

Grab cgminer... that should do the trick, its a good cpu miner.

yeah, cgminer is mainly used for GPU mining.
minerd is cool for CPU. you can use other miners as pooler or cpuminer-multi

It's been a few years since I last mined this. I'm going to give it another try, especially since the fork is coming up. Might as well give it a whirl. I'm only seeing the P2Pool as a possible pool site at current. I've got my CPU pointed their, but wondering if I can get my GPU going to it as the same time...
